Sourland Stewardship Leaders
Sourland Stewardship Leaders are stewardship volunteers trained by Sourland Conservancy’s naturalist advisor, Jared Rosenbaum of Wild Ridge Plants.
These Stewardship Leaders work in teams to conduct a habitat restoration project on Baldpate to learn ecological restoration fundamentals including:
- Site analysis
- Goal articulation
- Implementation and monitoring
- Return a natural area to diversity and function
This project was funded in part with a Franklin Parker Conservation Excellence grant given by New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
The goal of the Sourland Stewardship Leader Program is to assign teams of Stewardship Leaders to specific Sourland Preserves in order to monitor and assess conditions at the preserves and, if necessary, lead volunteers in stewardship projects at the sites.
